The Center for Development and Education in Prilep is an association focused on providing social services, assistance, and support for individuals/families at social risk.
Within the project TRANSAKT – Transforming Global Social Challenges into Real Local Actions, the Association begins establishing and delivering a new socio-health service, Community Nurse, aimed at improving the health and social status of vulnerable groups, especially those living in poverty.
To successfully implement the project activities and provide effective and efficient support for vulnerable citizen categories, the Association is announcing a vacancy for 5 social workers/psychologists/special educators.

SOCIAL WORKER/PSYCHOLOGIST/EDUCATOR – 5 job positions

Job Description:
The position is for a Social Worker/Psychologist/Special Educator, full-time at the office of the Center for Development and Education in Prilep, as well as field activities in the municipalities of Prilep, Krivogashtani, and Dolneni from March 15, 2025, to December 31, 2025, with the possibility of extending the engagement throughout 2026. The Social Worker/Psychologist/Special Educator will assist individuals in need (poor people, vulnerable groups) in finding appropriate resources to receive the care or benefits they require to maintain a certain quality of life. In close coordination and cooperation with the project coordinator, they will be responsible for supporting and addressing all operational and administrative tasks related to the activities of the TRANSAKT project.

More specifically, the work duties of the social worker/psychologist/special educator are the following responsibilities:

  • Identifying individuals/families in need of assistance.
  • Planning, coordinating, and implementing support services to help users and their families cope with current challenges.
  • Maintaining continuous communication with users, in order to provide advice and assistance in accessing appropriate services, including medical services, professional training, social activities, and social support.
  • Assessing the needs of users, situations, strengths, and support networks.
  • Preparation of an individual plan for the service user.
  • Advocacy for improving the well-being of users.
  • Implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Identifying the needs of vulnerable groups in the community (poor people) and informing local authorities about social issues in local communities.
  • Direct collaboration and coordination with the professional team.
  • Inclusivity for all applicants of socio-health services, men, women, girls, and boys of all ages, nationalities, backgrounds, and abilities in the assessment, planning, and implementation of all protective, social, and health activities.
  • Communication and reporting to the project coordinator about the development, activities, and needs of the users.
  • Other responsibilities according to the needs and dynamics of project activities.

The candidate(s) must meet the following requirements:

  • Completed higher education (social work and policy, psychology, special education and rehabilitation)
  • Knowledge of laws, policies, and programs related to social protection
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills and assertive behavior
  • Developed teamwork and self-initiative skills
  • Sensitivity to working with marginalized and socially excluded groups of citizens
  • Work experience and
  • Solid knowledge of the English language will be considered an advantage
